How often do we search for the right words? How often do we make do with inadequate ones? How satisfying it is to state your meaning with just the right turn of phrase! Voracious reader, lover of grammar (thanks to my mother), and mischievous punster (out-punned too often by my brother), I have always delighted in the splendid and intriguing world of language. I earned a bachelor's degree in French from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, and a troisième degré from l'Université de Strasbourg, France. Throughout my motley careers—French translator; insurance claims administrator; personnel generalist; property manager; building rehabber; freelance author, editor, proofreader, and technical writer—I have applied a sense of order through words. I ensure that documents are clearly written and proofread, and processes documented to reduce personnel training time. In July 1993, I left the corporate world and D. Brill & Associates was born.
